STAY WITH US
A comfortable bush retreat with space for everyone
Woodlands Bush Lodge sleeps up to eight guests in four air-conditioned bedrooms — two with queen beds and two with three-quarter beds. Each bedroom wing has two rooms and two bathrooms, and is separate from the main living area. This layout makes the lodge ideal for two families travelling together or a group of friends who enjoy their privacy. Two of the bathrooms have showers and two have baths.
LIVING SPACES
The heart of the lodge is a relaxed, open-plan living area with a comfortable lounge and fireplace — perfect for cooler evenings or quiet mornings with a book.
The dining area is spacious enough for shared meals, and the fully equipped kitchen makes self-catering easy. It comes with a dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, airfryer, fridge and freezer, along with coffee, wine glasses, and all the cooking basics you might need. For longer stays, there’s also a washing machine for your convenience, and for stays of seven nights or more, sheets and linen are changed every four days.
Step outside and you’ll find two braai areas — one open to the stars, the other covered for shade on warmer days. The private plunge pool is ideal for cooling off in the Lowveld heat, while the fire pit invites long, easy evenings under the night sky. Two hammocks under the trees, and the covered patio offers uninterrupted views over the estate’s open greenbelt. From here, giraffe, impala, warthogs and other wildlife often wander past, giving you a real sense of the bush.

HOEDSPRUIT WILDLIFE ESTATE
Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate is a gated, 600-hectare residential reserve where each property sits on its own half-hectare stand.
At the heart of the estate is a wide greenbelt — an untouched stretch of bush with no houses, home to an abundance of free-roaming wildlife. This is where you’ll find the walking trails, cycling routes, bird hides, and several dams and waterholes.
You can explore the estate on foot, by bicycle, or in your own vehicle, with several marked single-track mountain bike trails winding through the bush and past hidden spots to pause and enjoy the surroundings.
From your doorstep, it’s not uncommon to see kudu grazing, giraffes strolling past, or warthogs sniffling for roots and tubers.
The estate is strictly access-controlled, with 24-hour security at the main gate, giving you the freedom to enjoy the bush in safety and comfort.
AROUND HOEDSPRUIT
Just beyond the estate lies Hoedspruit — a friendly Lowveld town framed by mountain views and surrounded by bushveld.
Life here moves at an easy pace, with coffee shops, delis, and restaurants serving fresh, locally inspired meals. It’s also a great place to stock up on supplies or browse the local shops.
Hoedspruit is perfectly placed for exploring some of South Africa’s most celebrated attractions. Spend a day in Kruger National Park, the home to the Big Five — with access through either the Orpen Gate (about 45 minutes away) or the Phalaborwa Gate (about 1 hour 15 minutes away). Or take a drive along the Panorama Route for breathtaking views of the Blyde River Canyon, cascading waterfalls, and winding mountain passes.
If you’d like to keep things closer to home, the town offers excellent local facilities and activities. Just outside the estate’s main gate is the Hoedspruit Private Hospital, offering peace of mind during your stay. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the Hoedspruit Padel Courts, while every Saturday morning the nearby Thirsty Giraffe hosts a friendly parkrun — open to all, whether you walk, jog, or run. On the first Saturday of each month, the Hoedspruit Farmer’s Market brings together fresh produce, handmade goods, and a taste of the Lowveld’s community spirit.
